Catalyzing change through media. In 2014, the Lewis Family Foundation underwrote the establishment of the Conservation Media Group (CMP), a nonprofit organization that is building capacity for the use of video to create action in conservation, with a focus on ocean health and sustainable energy. Their Catalyst Workshops bring dozens of organizations and media makers together at Alnoba multiple times a year. The family’s longtime friend and collaborator David Conover, founder of Compass Light Productions, heads up the initiative.

Founded in 1901, The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests is one of the leading conservation organizations in New Hampshire. We are strong supporters of their vision to create a living landscape where managed woodlands, farms and wild lands are woven into the fabric of community life.

We are allies with the Forest Society in opposing the Northern Pass, a utilities initiative that plans construction of overhead power lines on 1,500 towers through 185 miles of the state’s most scenic mountain and remote northern landscapes.

GO Logic specializes in construction built to the German Passive House standard. The company’s near-zero-energy design approach creates a super-insulated building shell that makes use of passive solar gain to lower space-heating demands, allowing the cost and complexity of the mechanical systems to be minimized. German Passive House standard is the metric used to determine the target level of energy performance for a building. This new standard represents a 90% improvement on the building’s space-heating loads from code-compliant construction. The super insulation combined with the thermal mass and solar gain results in temperatures between 62 and 75 degrees in winter with no heating input.

ReVision Energy is a full-service renewable energy contracting company that seeks to help people and businesses transition away from fossil fuels to sustainable solar energy. The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is home to the oldest endowed sustainability program in higher education in the United States, a program that continues to rank among the best. Our partnership with UNH will help support Alnoba to become a model of sustainability, advance the work of the University’s Sustainability Institute, provide a training center and learning ground for university students, and support students from Kensington and Exeter to pursue study and work in the conservation and sustainability fields.
